I know the latest rejuvenation of SFC is for semi preparative work and this makes sense. However, I am still hopeful for analytical scale SFC being of use to the pharmaceutical industry especially those of use who make large molecular weight pharmaceuticals. Can anyone suggest the best manufacture of SFC instrumentation from personal experience?

Berger Instruments of DE manufactures a decent SFC system. It's based on the HP design of years ago. It has a nice 6 column switching arrangement useful in screening numerous columns with one setup.

In addition to Berger, we also looked at Selerity Technologies in UT. They are the former Lee Scientific (then Dionex then Sensar) SFC people. I used a Lee Scientific SFC more years ago than I would prefer to admit. It worked well but the injection was very loud. I believe JASCO also makes an SFC. Unfortunately, we did not buy an SFC so I cannot give you personal experience on current models.
