We have several 2690's and 1 2790 less than 2 years old. We have had to change the degas module in about half of them. Is anyone else having problems with this. Some were in warrenty and some were not.

Steve,
Waters has had a problem in the past with their degassers in the 2690's and 2790's. They have a new and expensive fix for them though. Basically you need to buy a new one and it will fix the problem(so far so good) We have upgraded about 10 of them here so far. You also could get their service contract on the units and it includes a "free" upgrade to the new style degasser.

Steve,
Lcguy1 was correct. We have a Waters 2690 and the service contract. About 5 months ago the tech came in and replaced the degasser module with the new upgraded one. This upgrade solved most if not all of our degassing issues. The service contract may seem like a large investment, but sometimes it pays off to not worry about the cost of replacing or repairing components or the cost of upgrades.

Steve,
we also suffer from the same problem... It is a wellknown one. Change to the "performanceplus vac degas chamber" (# 700001218) and all problems will be solved.
