I'm relatively new to the whole HPLC game and have
a question that someone out there can hopefully
answer. I trying to transfer and HPLC method I
learned in Japan to the U.S, but have run into
some LC problems. The most significant of these
seems to be column choice. The column I used in
Japan was a Nomura Chemical packed with a
Develosil ODS-5 solid phase (4.66mm X 25 cm). I
haven't been able to get any of the C18 columns
I've purchased from other U.S. suppliers to
function anywhere near as well as the Nomura, and
was wonderinf if:
a) Anyone knows of U.S. supplier for this column
?, or
b) Anyone knows of an equivalent?
Additionally can anyone whose had experience with
the Devlosilsolid phase give me an idea why its s

You maybe using the wrong one.

ODS-MG:provides high retention for polar compounds
ODS-UG:bonded using monochlorosilyating compounds
UDS-HG:bonded using polychlorosilyating compounds
