Can excepts like Mg-sterate, lactose dissolve in 0.1 N acetic acid? We are having a strange problem with Hydralazine HCl impurity assay. An unknown peak is showing up only in the assay sample and not in the stds. The placebo on its own does not show this peak. In addition, spiking the placebo with related compounds and the active drug substance results in this unknown peak (accuracy study). Hydralazine is known to be unstable in the presence of anions and it is pH sensitive. Can sterate anion be the reason for the degradation? Our solvent is 0.1 N acetic acid.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Anonymnous,
1)You can do the reaction between your Hydralazine.HCl and yours anions by 5 min,
15 min and 60 min (ex.)
2) And you have must see the stability os your analyte, Hydralazine.HCl with your solvent, 0.1N Acetic Acid?. Because this acid generate the anion acetate.
3) Do you know the stabality of your analyte in your solvent?
Bye and Happiness;
