Anybody have experience or assay method for PEG-8000 level (ethylene oxide polymer, MW = 8000) or similar in aqueous or alcohol solution? I'm looking for quantitation of the total amount, so elution as one peak is desired (don't care about separating individual homologs). I also have RI and ELSD detectors available so I can detect it if I can get a decent peak.

SEC on Ultrahydrogel or similar will do exactly what you want.

My company specializes in the analyis of polyoxyalkylene polymers (e.g., PEGS, poloxmers, etc.). We have several methods available for GPC determination of these polymers in finshed formulations at levels as low as a few ppm. I can't provide details since the methodologies are proprietary. However, since we are a contract lab, we can develop a procedure specific to your product. Feel free to contact me if interested.
