I'm buying a new HPLC for a laboratory in the biotech industry. One of the systems I'm evaluating is the Beckman System Gold HPLC system equiped with a DAD. Would any one recommend (or not) this system?

No firsthand experience, but I've heard other chromatographers say they liked the performance of the hardware. However, considering that the System Gold software is outdated, and Beckman has no plans to do any more development of its chromatography software, and there doesn't seem to be any other software offering full control of the Gold HPLC, you'd be limiting your future options rather severely. Nowadays, the software is as important a consideration as the hardware.
