There is a new publication by the Barcelona pH police in Anal Chem 2002, 74, 3809-3818 on "the properties of LC buffers in acetonitrile water mobile phases".
Good reading, highly recommended!

Thanks Uwe. When they did methanol they mostly rediscovered stuff Bates published in the 50's but their last paper on acetonitrile was new stuff.
