Can anybody guide me the best way to use AMINEX-HPX 87 K column for the same. I have the method, I would like to know if there is some addtional care needed to carry out this analysis? any other methods or suggestions welcome.

which betain???? what is the structure ??
are there any simalar betains with slightly diff mole wt ??? etc. some more information is required.

Method:
Eluant: distilled water pH 9.0 adjusted with KOH.
Flow rate: 0.6 ml/min
Column: Aminex HPX-87K, at 75°C.
Detector: Diffrential refractometer.

My question is has anybody done extensive work on this column(results?) and what special care has to be taken to extend the life of the column.
