Looking to assay hydrolyzed collagen (2000mw) by HPLC. Tried aqueous GPC with Shodex and Alltech Macrosphere (silica based). All columns elute the collagen at/near the void. Also tried 300A c18 columns. What's the trick to obtain a sharp, reproducible peak.

Try contacting Kind and Knox Gelatine in Sioux City, IA. Gelatin is hydrolyzed collagen (although typically higher MW), so they should be able to help. I believe they use several Polymer Labs Aquagel columns in series.
