Hi Everyone:
Our company is about to purchase a LIMS system. We are looking at Labware's product right now. Does anyone have any favorites or suggestions for the features this software should contain. Thanks in advance for your opinions.
Melissa

First, my condolences - you have a lot of work ahead of you. Specifying, selecting, and implementing a LIMS is a big job, and it seems that every installation requires a lot of customization. The LIMS vendors and any independent consultants you may be working with should be able to provide you with some lists of questions that will help you identify your requirements; if any can't, I'd be very hesitant to work with them.
A place you can find links to lots of information about LIMS is www.LIMSource.com. It's got links to LIMS vendors, products, user groups, articles, etc. For tales of implementation and such, check back issues of LC/GC, American Lab, and SC&I.
Best of luck.

Here is an article with a dose of reality:

www.scimag.com has links to many reviews and articles. We have the SQL*LIMS product, not sure that we would do it again if we had it to do over. Good Luck.
