Can any body give me some insight into analysing the fatty acids? How do I go about doing it for my broth samples-fementation process monitoring.

I work for a soap company, and we make fatty acid methyl esters using either BF3-methanol or H2SO4-methanol and use either a packed column or capillary of Supelco SP-2330 or Restek RTx-2330 type. There are plenty of FAME application notes out there.
