I was using a FFAP column to determine acetic acid in water .My brand new Nukol begins to tail terrible the acetic acid after only 140 injections.
is the lifetime for FFAP column so short?
some advice?
thanks

If you allow the water to condense onto the phase then you are damaging the phase through hydrolysis. Nukol is an ester as is FFAP.
Keep your water vaporized and the column will last longer.

I had the same problem with a FFAP (Macherey Nagel) like you.
After the injection of 2-3 standards acidified with HCl (3-5%) the peak form became very good.
(HCl is not absolutly deadly for your column).
good luck
