Dear All,

We recently bought this LCMS system in our lab. I have been thinking of the best way to check system performance, especially when it comes to the Mass spectrometer. I have heard other people using Myoglobin as the compound used as reference to determine if there is decrease in the sensitivity of the spectrometer with prolonged use. others have used Reserpine instead. May I ask among all MS experts out there what is the best chemical that I could use for routine testing of my mass spectrometers sensitivity? Any comments/advice would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
CT

Agilent uses reserpine, but reserpine must be kept refrigerated, etc. I might suggest using a compound for which your lab performs assays - that would be a real good "real-life" test compound to use.
