Hallo, greetings from the Old Continent.

I am about to start working with the method for vitamin A according to the European Pharmacopoeia (EP 4.2 Vitamin A concentrate (oily form), synthetic; page 2814; assay-method B). The reference solution is made with retinol acetate CRS. My sample, however, is retinol palmitate. My question is: which substance am I suppose to use?
By the way, could you point me to a good supplier of this standards (in Europe)?

Also concerning the above analysis: do I have to be worried about tocopherol being present in my sample (EP uses butylhydroxytoluen as a antioxidant), will it interfere with my separation?

Thank you!

As written in the text retinol palmitate and retinol acetat are saponified during workup.
The whole method works only to measure total retinol.
Regarding tocopherol I dont know. Does it basorb at 320nm?
