Is there any way to quantitatively determinate cellulose (e.g. Sodium carboxymethylcellulose, RC591) in liquid products rather than titration as USP requested but have some interference?

Regards,

Yan

You can determined the sodium carboxymethylcellulose by atomic absorption spectrophotometric method. Where you have to find out the sodium content from there you can calculate Sodium Carboxymethylcellulose content in liquid product. Provided your liquid product does not have any other form of sodium.
