Friends;
I would like to ask about names of IEX resin suppliers besides those commonly known, such as TosoHaas, Dionex, etc.
I am interested in analytical and prep-scale resins with different selectivities from those of the traditional silica based materials.
Thanks
benjamin

Dear Benjamin, first of all TSK-Gel resins are produced by Tosoh Corporation in Japan, and Tosoh subsiduaries in Europe and USA are Tosoh Bioscience GmbH and LLC. TosoHaas is obsolete and is no longer existing! Our IEX resins are polymer based and available for all requierments from analytical to prep-scale, from capture, purification to polishing, with different particle sizes, pore sizes and chemistries. Please visit our webside www.tosohbioscience.com, contact us and get some resin samples to test. Regards. Gerhard

Try this
http://www.metrohm.com/products/07/columns.html
A range of different ion exchange columns. Supporting matrices offered are vary varried, from the usual
polystyrene-divinylbenzene co-polymer with sulphonic acid groups
to unusual ones
polyvinyl alcohol with quartnary ammonium groups
poly methacryalate with quaternary ammonium groups
spherical hydroxyethyl methacrylate with quartnary ammonium groups
spherical silica gel with sulphonic acid groups
polyethylene with sulphonic acid groups
silica gel with carboxyl groups
These different supporting matices / active groups offer different selectivities and different system peaks and so can offer different answers to difficult applications.

From your question I'm not sure if you are after bulk resin or just interested in ion exchange resin in prepacked columns. Assuming you are interested in the former, in addition to Dionex and Tosoh, you can also get resins from BioRad, Hamilton, Benson Polymeric, Polysciences, Serva, Showa Denko (distributed by JM Science in the U.S. and private labeled for Metrohm), Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Alltech, and Supelco. I'm sure there are some others I've left out but these are the major ones. You can also buy a number of bulk resins from supply sources such as Fisher Scientific, VWR and Sigma-Aldrich-Fluka. If I knew a bit more about with specific resins types you are after, I could probably point you in the right direction.

Has anyone heard of a product called BioFlash by Biotage? It was on the market for a couple of quarters in 2000/2001. It's a pre-packed chromatgraphy column in various sizes. Are there any other "pre-packed" device suppliers out there.
Thanks.
