What are the physical properties of a organic molecule usualy in relation with chromatographic RT?
Partition coefficient water-octanol? Polarizability? Total or partial dipol moment? Other?

Thank you!

To obtain a satisfactory separation, first, you try to get acceptable sample retention times on a selected column and mobile phase combination.

You cannot generalize your question that way.
You have different stat phases which cause different interactions with your analyte.
