Can someone please let me know if there is a method for detecting caffiene in solution using a method similar to a pH test strip? I am interested in detection limits between 1-100 mg/l.

Not that I'm aware of. Too many possible interferences. That's why chromatography is so popular!

Caffeine analysis from coffee or soft drinks can be done by silica TLC, in ethyl acetate/5% methanol.
