Greetings :
I'm planning a diode array detector for an Agilent 1100 series HPLC system.
How is the Agilent diode array system? Agilent competitors scare me with stories about number of diodes, electronic resolution, software problems and what not.
Would appreciate feedback from Agilent users about the Diode Array.
Thanks in advance.

I have been using the 1100 DAD for many happy years, it is very good, the only drawback I have found is the Peak Purity function.
This function is not very clearly explained.
I have not suffered software problems apart from the ¨Report to HP¨ or the very nasty HPcore messages!

We use DAD from Agilent since 1995. We now have 8 DAD's of Agilent and never problems with the module itself or with the software. Software problems as described above are inherent to your computer and/or memory availability. It is a pitty that you must use so much licences for the instruments. With one computer you can use 2 DAD's and you must have a 2D, 3D and additional instrument licence.

we have app. 90 DADs in use in our dept. they are quite robust.
the s/n at 210-220 is very good. I would strongly recommend the DAD...

Greetings:
As I said on Mon 7/4 the software problems I experienced were HPs only fault because we bought the complete package!
The computer (HP) is a Pentium II and has 41 MB memory!! and a hard disk of 4 Gb, I learned later that the 41 Mb can accomodate the Windows NT 4.0 and for the rest?
Here in Argentina in the HP (Agilent?) User´s Group is very a common complaint the problems I mentioned.
In all is an excellent piece of equipment!
Best luck!
