I've been asked by a colleague to source a Hyperclone column - does anyone have any idea who makes them / where I can get hold of one? I've done the usual web searches and come up with nothing. I've contacted the people I would have thought made it (based on the name) and they've not heard of it. Any info would be gratefully recieved. Thanks.

Did you ask the people that make "Hyper"stuff, or the people who make ..."clone"s?

The Hypersil people in the UK had not heard of it - they also searched their databases for me and found no mention of the product - they believe that it's probably a Phenomemex copy based on discussions with the US, but I cannot find anything on their web site about the product.

Maybe your colleague means Hypercarb ( product of ThermoHypersil-Keystone )?

No. I know Hypercarb from applications and promo items I've received.
The column I'm supposed to source is a silica based C18 - it's being touted as a replacement for older ODS type column at a fraction of the price.

There are columns from Phenomenex called Bondclone. A statement of Phenomenex: " An excellent alternative to waters µBondapak at a much lower price".

The Hyperclone column is sold by Phenomenex. We recently received one to try out but haven't yet compared it to our Hypersil columns. The price looks to be a lot less. You might ask your sales rep for a free trial period.
