Hi All
I want to ask about 2 things
1:- I am searching for a system that separate (all trans beta carotene) from (cis beta carotene). I have tried Hypersil Alltech ODS with mobile phase composed of Acetonitrile:CH2Cl2:n-Hexane as 92.5:3.75:3.75 and I found it not able to acheave basline separation.
2:- are there any convenient extarction method to extract beta carotene from tablets without isomerisation of the compound? in my formula , betacarotene is coated with gelatine, sucrose and starch.
Can any one help me?

There are C30 columns available that are designed for this kind of application. A mild dissolution/extraction procedure in the absense of bright light should be sufficient to get a undecomposed sample.
