Can any one help me with Polyethylene glycol analysis. I have to determine the strength and impurity levels for PEG 9 (Mw 414) and the sample also contains PEG 3,4,5,6,7,8,11,12,15,,16 etc. I have tried LC/MSD and light scatter detectors. But for both of these techniques response varies with the mass of the oligomer, and gradient. and you can only buy standards for PEG 3, PEG 4, and PEG6.

Evaporative Light Scattering Detection isn't even linear for simple analytes.
There is a recent article that claims high conformity in response of ethoxylated alcohols after derivatisation.
