My company has done this using deactivated C18 column and UV detection, and also by NBD derivatization and HPLC-UV; the supplier uses test method very similar to the latter. Anonymous, post your E-mail address.

Hi KM
My email address is ladamson@houghton.co.uk
i would be very grateful if you could send me a method as i have been having trouble finding one and the methods i have tried don't seem to be working. One of the methods was using a C8 column with a moblie phase of Acetonitrile/water. The UV detector was set to 263nm. the sample was treated with NBD-CL but no peak could be found. Another method was to extract the sample with chloroform and the mobile phase was Acetonitrile/0.02 mol/l KH2PO4 (30/70%) this method worked once.
