Does any one has any experience with HPLC-CLND (NITROGEN HPLC DETECTOR).
I work in the analytical development department ina a Pharmaceutical Company and we are thinking on purchasing this equipment.
Any comments will be appreciated

Hi Basil,
currently we're using the CLND-detector from Antek, which to my knowledge is the sole manufacturer and provider for those HPLC-detectors. As far as I tested it, it lives fully up to its promise. The only two known restrictions are the flow-rate (max. 0.3 ml/min) and N-N bonds which react to nitrogen and are therefor not correctly quantified.
Any special questions ? Just post.

Related with flow rate we are also thinking on buying a caplillar HPLC to use with this detector, and then tere will be no problem with low flow rates.
Related with the second part: If I understand correctly, there are some nitrogen atom that are not quantified by the system.
As we are in the development department I have not defined the kind of compounds that will be analyzed with this detector (compounds derivated from: indazole, indole, piperidine, pirimidine, imidazole, nitrocompounds, triazole, bencilamine,....).
Any bibliographic reference will also be appreciated.
Thanks
Basil
