Hi,

We are using ChemStation A.09.03 and I would like to use parts of the built-in report styles to make a new style and have it available in the drop-down list.

I have contacted everyone I know at Agilent and they say it is not possible and I have to create a custom report. But I was at a HPLC meeting in Foster City a few years ago and someone asked this and Agilent said you could not do it but someone from the audience showed the group how on a break.

Warning: you could break your installation of ChemStation playing with these tables.

You should learn how to make backup copies of these tables before proceeding.

You can probably do what you want by entering "edtab 1, _config, reportstyle" without the quotes on the chemstation command line. The command line is at the very bottom of the ChemStation window unless you are in a resticted user access mode. The reportstyle table lists all of the macros that are run to generate the preconfigured reports. You can get a new line by tabbing to the end of the table. Add your title and a unique style number. Add the necessary macros in the columns. Your title will show up in the drop down list. Good Luck

If you also have ChemStore then you can use that to report out _most_ of the information that can be generated on ChemStation reports (plus a whole lot more besides for stats, charts, etc.). The main exception is decent Chromatograms, which in ChemStore are just bitmaps and hence 1) take an absolute age to print out 2) can't be scaled.

GO to report layout menu then after you have created your report, name and save it. Now go to the file menu and add to report styles. It will now appear in the drop down menu.
