Does anyone know where I can find a method/has a method for the analysis of phenoxyacetic acid by HPLC and quantification? E.G would this be normal phase or perhap Dionex?

Dear Anon,
If you are after trace levels check with the US EPA, they have a good method or two. If you are analyzing a formulation of the neat material I would use reverse-phase LC with some TFA in the mobile phase to suppress the ionization and analyze the molecular species. I don't have a reference, just my experience in method development.

Regards,
Mark

2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid chromatographs just fine on an endcapped C18 with 0.2% acetic acid in the mobile phase.

I have separated 2,4-D and MCPA (and other acidic herbicides) with C18 endcapped column (Purospher Merck) using a gradient acetonitrile/water both with 1 mM formic acid.
good luck

I think this is the second call for papers (the first one:29./30 july).Isn't it help enough to say RP 18 under acidic conditions? To be more precise I would take intuitively 30-40% ACN/water pH 3-4.The rest is y o u r job.
