Would anyone know how to configure an HP1090 LC instrument with a manual injector under ChemStation v7. The autosampler on my HP1090 has not worked for several months thus rendering the instrument unusable. I want to disable the autosampler and use a manual Rheodyne injector instead. Agilent have been unable to help, unfortunately.
TIA,
Tony

OK, I don't have 1090 (just 1050s and 1100s), but use Chemstations from v3 to v9, on Win 3.1 to Win2000. I'm not an expert, but here's what I'd try, if it's possible with 1090s: (1) can you "delete" or remove the autosampler from the setup, using Configuration Editor? (2) since you'd be making manual injections anyway, with hands-on required, first set up under RunControl, and you can likely just leave Vial Number or Location blank, make your inection manually, then press Run Method, which starts the data collection and any gadient programs, etc. This will definitely work on 1050s and 1100s. You may also be able to enter in vial numbers, and can name the run file names manually.

Thank you for your reply. I checked the HP1090 configuration using the configuration editor but there is no mention of the autosampler in the file.

Question: when you try to do an injection with the autosampler, does the data station start acquiring data or does it just state "not ready" and nothing happens? If the first, just plumb in manual injector and let it start.

In answer to your question, the data station states "not ready" and data is never acquired.

You'll need to physically remove the autoinjector and/or autosampler so the 1090 doesn't think it's there, then it should reach "ready" state. A manual valve with start wires could be wired into the remote socket. I believe 1090s are still supported, why not repair it, or at least have Agilent evaluate it?
