Someone use polimeric reverse-phase columns at basic pH instead of the boring SDS ion-pair with post column derivatization for amines?
My analytes are amines up to 8 carbons, all aliphatic.

We have used XTerra columns at alkaline pH (usually 10) for many basic compounds, mostly amines. The retention is between 10- and 30-fold higher compared to acidic pH.

You can also use pre column dansylation (see Price et al. (1992).J.Chromatogr. 598:51-57.
Chromatography itself is then easily performed on a classical C18 phase using a water/CH3CN gradient.

To Uwe:
How long the column withstood to basic pH? I mean, it showed any degradation?

45 days at pH 11.5 at 30 degrees at 1 mL/min around the clock.
