Hi everyone

When analysing components with different wavelength maxima is it better to change the wavelength during the run or use a detector with eg dual wavelength capabilities/pda.
Many thanks

Should be similar if compounds of interest are sufficiently resolved from each other. However, I'd use dual-wavelength if peaks are not that well resolved, so the time of wavelength change-over wouldn't be as critical.

If you have one, use the PDA. Switching wavelengths in the middle of the run can cause a baseline shift and you would also need to program an autozero at that point too.
