Hello there.

I'm trying to make a sample loop for my autosampler, and because of the way it's designed, (to make a long story short) I need a tubing union which will accept a fitting that was designed to go into a rheodyne switching valve. Most unions I've seen accept valco or SSI etc fittings with the shorter post-ferrule lengths, but I can't seem to locate one that will take the ridiculously-long rheodyne fitting. My alternative is a $250 length of tubing from the autosampler manufacturer. I have too much pride to indulge them in a "deal" like that.

please let me know if you know where to find such a union.

THANKS!!!

Jonathan

PS feel free to email me directly if you prefer.

I may not understand your problem correctly, but why not get tubing (or an old sample loop cut into halves) and/or Rheodyne nuts and ferrules (available from Supelco) and buy a Valco zero dead volume union and make it work?

As I said, I may not understand, if so my apologies.

Upchurch has "Litetouch" (and others) that fit everything. (Also: Apologies if the question was misunderstood)

Hi again,

just wanted to let you know that I got it worked out with an upchurch "true zero dead volume" union. The chromatography looks great. So if you have an old HP 1050 autosampler and want to add a sample loop for under $250, grab some tubing and one of these fittings and you'll be set!

thanks for the suggestions!

Jonathan
