I would love to find a really detailed HPLC troubleshooting book. One that goes beyond the basic chapter you get in the operating manual. Does anyone know of any such book? I would also like to hear about any courses you think might help in this area.

"Troubleshooting LC Systems," John W. Dolan and Lloyd R. Snyder, 1989, Humana Press has to be about the best. I'm not aware of a good troubleshooting shortcourse although Harold McNair down at Va Tech may be offering one.

HP also run short courses on LC and GC Troubleshooting. Additionally, I agree with Jerry Clark - Dolan and Snyder is the best and you can get that from Wiley.

If you'd like an interactive PC package there's Savant's LC Trouble Shooting.
You can buy it direct from Savant (i think) or through ThermoQuest Chromatography.
The package is easier to understand than a lot of the books that are available on the subject - well I think so !!
