How do you determine the S/N? Do you measure the Noise in presence of analyte of interest or independently (by injecting blank)?

Run the analyte at a low concentration and high
attenuation. Measure the peak height . Select a
stable segment of baseline. Draw parallel lines to
encompass the + and - deflections. Measure the
distance betwwen the parallel lines. The S/N ratio
at the given concentration is the analyte peak
height /noise peak h
