where can i find some guidelines on the proper injection volumes for columns of size X? i saw something recently that said the recommended injection volume for a 75um ID capillary column was 0.05 uL. how can one load a sample with a volume that small?

It depends on how you make up your sample. If your sample is dissolved in a compatible solvent, you may be able to inject a sample volume of 1000 column volumes.

very small volumes can be loaded by doing a split of the injection-flow.
