I am trying to modify the default wavelength (set at 254 nm) on Millenium 32, for display in Quickset (I created a derived channel for data processing at my new wavelength). I do know you can use 'Customize Channels' to change that value. However, I would like to get my preferred wavelength displayed as I open Quickset. Is there a way to do it?
Thanks for your inputs.

After you customize your channel(s), select 'Save Preferences' from the File menu. That is all there is to it.

this 'save preferences' works in more screens , like in the review-screen. If you set up the screen the way you like it you select save preferences and the next time you open this screen it looks the same. by the way, would it be nice to have an discussion group about millennium 32?

In regards to the Millenium discussion group, I second that thought. And Waters should initiate the forum on their website. Their benefit would be the feedback in the form of the topics and questions posted and as a selling point for their software. I use Millenium for LC and GC work and have spent a fair share of time going through manuals and online help indexes trying to figure out how to do things. I'm still trying to figure out how to default to no scrollbars for quickset and review ;)

Preferences: "save preferences" works well in the current project you are working but if you create a new project these preferences are not "copied" over to the new project. In the previous version(2.15) when creating custom fields (eg. field for column no.) you could specify a field order and as a result your "view" was always the same. I have e-mailed Waters about this problem and they have admitted that there is a "bug" in the software and hopely the new version will solve this problem.
Dicussion Group: Waters will soon have a Millennium32 discussion forum on their website. Refer to their website- Millennium32 Elite Support Centre.
This will be a good forum to discuss problems and improvements. Some of the improvements that I have suggested to Waters is: ability to search across projects, save message board errors with your run.
I hope that more Millennium users will contribute to this forum so that we can help Waters to improve their product.

Michael,
It looks like Waters will only let you access the forum if you have their Total Assurance Plan. Users shouldn't have to pay a premium to help Waters improve their product. If they want to sell a preferred tech support plan, fine. But a forum, which seems all upside for Waters, should be open access. Just my 2 cents.

Can someone explain to me how I set up my results table so that I can have the choice of viewing only the results processed that day? Some type of view filter change.

In the results view, click on EDIT VIEW. Locate the column "Date Processed". On the first line of that column type =TODAY. Save the view.
I use the view filters a lot. They are a very helpful tool to view the information of the database.

Gilbert

I'm totally on board with the Millenium discussion
group suggestion. Our group had the support plan for a while, but found it less than satisfactory, especially for the amount of money they charge.
