Just curious: why are you looking for a back-up vendor? Cost? Quality? Availability? Delivery? The packing is of course the same as the packing delivered by Vydac. It is also possible that the columns themselves are packed by Vydac, and the other companies function only as warehouses.

218TP54 and 215TP54
Availability and Quality is our major concern. BTW This is a QC environment, we want consistancy.
Thanks!!

I am slowly moving away from the traditional vydac columns to Agilent's Zorbax columns. You can call them and they will be more than willing to help find a match for you. The columns tend to give very good reproducibility and column life.

I use the Alltech Alltima C18 to validate/ qualify my Waters systems. Good results/ stability.

Is your application peptide mapping? If so, one suggestion is the Waters Atlantis column. They claim it is quite good for small peptides. Just my $0.02.
