Dear colleagues,

I am developing new method for diquat analysis by HPLC-UV. one time consuming step in sample preparation, is evaporation of about 6 ml of 5N HCl, it may take 3 hrs at 40 0c under stream of nitrogen. I appreciate if you suggest me an azeotropic mixture or any other technique to reduce time of evaporation.

Thanks and best regards

Why not using vacuum?

Thank you Mouse,

I also used rotary evaporator under suction, But it takes nearly the same time. Also I evaporated using both techniques at 80 oc, but it takes about 2hrs (The reccomended evaporation temperature is 40 oc).
