Can anyone tell me why paracetamol (acetaminophen) is more soluble in propanone than it is in water?

I don't think it is polar enough to go well in only water (R.T.), considering the aromatic ring. It's supposed to be "much" more soluble in warm/hot water. But it may go into mostly water with some organic, i.e. acetone/methanol/ethanol, to help it go in.

I need to administer some acetaminophen to a mammal, via drinking water.
Is there anyone who can suggest which "edible" solvent can I us?

Why not use the "solvent system" used in liquid cough medicine with acetaminophen. I'm not sure of the exact composition but I think the "solvent sytem" is mainly water and ethanol (but you can check on the package for other solvent ingredients).

acetaminophen is so foul tasting that you'd be doing the animal a favor by just shoving the correct portion of a pill down its throat, then giving it a drink, or use a children's liquid formulation (easier to titrate by weight).
