Dear visitiors of this topic!

I want to listen to your oppinions on possibilities of using gradient elution in micellar and ion-pair RP HPLC. What diificulties with reproducebility and detection difficulties may occur in this case? Does gradient elution give any real advantages when using it in micellar and IP HPLC? Thank you in advance.

Sometimes people use it ( for example see USP or EP method for Related substances in Dobutamine HCl). Less convinient vs. "classic" RP gradients - more "gradient related" peaks etc. I prefer to "split" the IP gradient method for two isocratic with different Buffer/organic ratio.

Thank you, Alex!

I usually do the same. But I'm writing the book on HPLC&SPE now, and thus need more "objective" points on some topics. That`s why I decided to ask this question on forum.
