I need to develop an LC assay for Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) and its metabolites (salicylic acid and salicyluric acid) in plasma and urine. Does anyone have some info with which I could start? I found some literature, but they are all ~20 years old. I heard that Aspirin is easily hydrolyzed to salicylic acid. Is there any method to prevent this process? Thanks for your time and help!

If anyone has read this article, do you know if it's applicable to whole blood as well as plasma?
Thanks
