Anybody already have HPLC postcolumn conditions to make UV or fluorescent derivatives of linear fatty alcohols or fatty alcohol ethoxylates? Please include the specific recipe of the postcolumn reagent if available.

Michael Pickering at Pickeringlabs.com relayed to me a reference that is applicable:
J. Chromatography 126, pp 317-325, 1976. "New Selective Detection Principles", by Asmus and Novotny.
Mr. Pickering said this paper presents a 'fluorescent enhancement' technique to increase response of the compounds you are interested in. He also suggested it would be useful to use "Chemical Citations" to forward search the literature to see if the ideas have been updated.
If you have questions after checking out the reference, Pickering Labs are experts in post-column chemistry and equipment. Nice folks and top-notch chemists that solve problems and manufacture post-column systems. We have several that we use for carbamate and glyphosate pesticide analysis.
