I'd like to try to obtain an adsorption isotherm of a single component sample. The literature seems to indicate that frontal analysis is a way to do this chromatographically. My question is, can this be done using a standard RPLC 25 cm x 0.46 cm analytical column and a conventional HP 1090 LC with diode array detector? Or can frontal analysis only be done using prep scale columns and modified instruments?
Thank you in advance!

Adsorption isotherms are readily measured by frontal analysis on standard LC systems, provided the "sample" stream is not interrupted (e.g., by loop switching, etc.).
