I am looking for a chromatography method (not MS or capillary)to measure sodium acetate in the presence of sorbitol (5%) and protein (50g/l)

Acetate and sodium are ions readily separated and detected via Ion Chromatography. Other components in the cosmetic may or may not need to be removed via SPE. I would try either an AS11 or an AS11-HC with a hydroxide elunt (www.dionex.com). Periodic solvent cleanup of the column may obviate the need for SPE.
