Hello,
I'm running a gradient method which uses a starting condition of 50% THF (50% water) at 1ml/min. As I run the initial conditions through the column (Luna C18 5um 4.6 x 50mm) I get such a high backpressure that the system blows the tubing. Does anyone know of any reason for this.
Much appreciated.

Are you using any plastic (e.g., PEEK) tubing or hardware? THF attacks many plastics and could easily soften them enough for a tube to slip out of a fitting. The cure is to use all stainless steel hardware.
