lod = limit of detection
loq = limit of quantitation

LOD and LOQ limits are discussed in one of the forums above. However in general LOD and LOQ are dependent on what it is you want the method to do. If you are doing a limit test for a compound at 20ug/ml then there is no real necessity to show that you can detect and quantify concentrations as low as 0.1ug/ml.

LOD is defined as a signal to noise ratio of 2
(some agencies require 3).
LOQ is by ICH definition - typically a signal to
noise ratio of 10.

According to FDA guidelines,LOQ is the lowest concentration of validation samples with a defined accuracy and precision(typically +/- 15 or 20 %).

this can be done by following methods
1)
one is injecting the blank around 7 times, calcuate 3sigma =lod
and 10 sigma = loq
