| OCTYL: a kind of
bonded phase used for reversed-phase chromatography; also
called C8.

| ODS: a kind of
bonded phase used for reversed-phase chromatography; also
called OCTADECYL or C18. ODS stands for "octadecylsilyl"
and refers to C18 linear hydrocarbon linear chains bonded
to a silica substrate.

| OUTLET CHECK VALVE:
The check valve in an LC pump that allows mobile phase to flow to
the column from the pump, but not in the reverse
direction. See CHECK VALVE.
